Hi, I’m Lyndsey.
I’m a photographer based in Berkhamsted, working with families, newborns, couples, and small businesses across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and North London.
I’m a northerner who moved from London to Berkhamsted nearly ten years ago and never looked back — though being so close to North London means I’ve never really had to leave it behind either.
My grandparents gave me my first camera twenty years ago, and it turned out to be the best gift I’ve ever been given. I’ve been photographing ever since, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
I have two energetic boys, which gives me a very realistic understanding of what it takes to get a family out of the house and somewhere nice before anyone has a meltdown.
Outside of work, I love long walks with friends, adventure days out with the boys, travelling whenever I get the chance, and time with family. There’s also an allotment that gets more attention in theory than in practice, and an ongoing attempt at sourdough — the results are improving, very slowly.
MY APPROACH
Real life, photographed well.

The thing I hear most often from clients, afterwards, is “that was so much better than I expected.” Most people arrive a bit nervous — parents worry the kids will play up, couples worry they’ll hate posing, business owners worry they’ll freeze. My first job, before anything else, is to make the session feel easy.
That means patience when a small child needs twenty minutes before they’ll look at me. It means knowing when an energetic kid needs to run off some steam — and building the break in before anyone has to ask. It means being the calm one in the room when everyone else is mildly panicking about how they look. And it means paying attention — to the small look, the quiet hand-hold, the moment just before the posed smile where someone’s still laughing — because those are usually the ones you’ll love most.
- A relaxed pace, and an experience that is enjoyable
- Gentle direction to make sure we capture everyone at their best
- At least one image of everyone looking at the camera
- And plenty of the in-between moments — the cuddles, the interactions, the bits that are actually you

FAMILIES & NEWBORNS
I work with families at every stage — from the very early newborn days right through to teenagers who think all of this is deeply uncool. Sessions work just as well with the older ones — even the ones pretending they don’t want to be there.
Younger children, including the ones who just want to run, keep things interesting. Some need a little time to warm up, and we’ll always give them that. Others just get on with it, and we’ll work with that too.
For family sessions, we’ll usually head outside somewhere local — Ashridge Estate is a favourite — and see what happens. You don’t need to worry about whether the kids will behave, and there’s no need to coordinate outfits (unless that’s your thing).
Newborn and baby sessions happen at your home, at any age — that’s the joy of lifestyle photography. We fit around your baby, whatever stage you’re at.
weddings
My approach to weddings is largely documentary — I photograph the day as it unfolds, rather than directing it. The formal shots happen, properly, with everyone gathered and accounted for. But it’s the quieter moments either side — the speech your dad didn’t mean to give, the unguarded look between you and your partner, the bit where your nan finally sits down with a glass of wine — that tend to become the photographs you’ll keep coming back to.
I’ll be there with you, quietly finding the shots — the kind of photographer you stop noticing after the first hour.

SMALL BUSINESS & PERSONAL BRANDING
If you need professional images for your business, I can help — whether that’s a single headshot for LinkedIn, corporate event coverage, or a set of images to keep your online presence looking current. I know being photographed isn’t most people’s idea of a good time — and I will make it a lot more enjoyable than you’re expecting.
I work with people at all stages:
Just starting out — you need something professional and approachable to put your best foot forward
Already established — your photos are out of date, or you’ve been avoiding having them taken altogether
Ongoing content — you need a steady stream of fresh images to keep your website, social media, and marketing material looking current
Sessions are relaxed and straightforward. You’ll come away with images that actually look like you — not a slightly stiff version of yourself on your best behaviour.
